ANNA ORLOVSKAYA

Anna Orlovskaya is a multidisciplinary artist working between ceramics, sculpture, and wearable objects. Born in Russia and shaped by years of travel and cultural immersion across Europe, Mexico, and Southeast Asia, her practice explores themes of identity, memory, belonging, and transformation.

 

Working primarily with porcelain and clay, Anna creates objects that exist between functional design and contemporary art. Through cracks, fragmentation, and traces of the hand, she investigates how personal and collective histories are carried within material forms. Her work often draws from cultural symbolism, folklore, ritual objects, and the emotional landscape of migration and displacement.

 

A formative period spent in Mexico deeply influenced her artistic language. There she developed recurring motifs such as the burning heart - a symbol of vulnerability, resilience, and inner life - and began her ongoing series Dead Inside, which reflects on loss, reinvention, and the reconstruction of identity.

 

Her recent projects include sculptural vessels, mosaic-based ceramic works inspired by the philosophy of kintsugi, and wearable art pieces that bridge contemporary fashion and cultural memory. Through her work, Anna seeks to create objects that function as emotional artifacts - spaces where fragility becomes a form of strength and memory becomes a material for renewal.
